In the latest study, children aged 8 to 11 either increased or decreased their time in bed by 1.5 hours a night for one week, then reversed the schedule for another week. When the children slept more, there were significant benefits reported, including:

Consuming an average of 134 fewer calories per day
Weighing half a pound less
