Very strong earthquakes detected SE of Falkland Islands, South Pacific Ocean - Strongest one M 7.0


A series of very strong and shallow earthquakes has been detected southeast of Falkland Islands, South Pacific Ocean, early on November 25, 2013.

The first earthquake in series was M 5.1 that hit at 10:09 UTC today. USGS is currently reporting two earthquakes at 06:27 UTC - M 5.1 and very strong M 7.0. The fourth earthquake in series was M 5.4 at 06:41 UTC.

M 5.5 followed at 07:21 UTC.

All depths ranged from 10 - 15.1 km.
