The Paris prosecutor has lodged a preliminary charge against the suspect in a shooting spree at media offices and a bank.
In a statement, the prosecutor said Abdelhakim Dekhar was charged late on Friday with several attempted murders and a kidnapping lasting fewer than seven days.
